Position Summary
The Student Worship Leader serves as a key member of the Student Ministry team by leading worship culture, developing student musicians and vocalists, overseeing worship experiences, and creating environments where students can grow in their faith through worship, community, and discipleship. This position balances worship leadership responsibilities with the development of small groups and Sunday morning programming for students. This position requires PV Membership.

This position balances worship leadership responsibilities with the development of small groups and Sunday morning programming for students. This position requires PV Membership.
20 Hours Per Week: Student Worship Ministry Leadership
- Recruit, train, and develop student musicians and vocalists.
- Lead and oversee worship for student ministry gatherings.
- Plan worship sets and coordinate with student ministry staff.
- Schedule and communicate with worship team members.
- Conduct weekly rehearsals and provide musical coaching.
- Develop future student worship leaders through mentoring and discipleship.
- Assist with worship planning for camps, retreats, special events, and conferences.
- Maintain worship ministry resources, equipment, and organizational systems.
- Foster a Christ-centered culture of excellence, service, and spiritual growth within the worship team.
20 Hours Per Week: Small Groups & Sunday Morning Programming
- Oversee student small group strategy and implementation.
- Recruit, equip, and encourage small group leaders.
- Provide ongoing support and communication to volunteer leaders.
- Coordinate student placement and group structure.
- Develop pathways for student connection, discipleship, and leadership growth.
- Plan and execute Sunday morning student programming.
- Coordinate curriculum and schedules for Sunday morning environments.
- Ensure engaging, age-appropriate discipleship experiences for students.
- Partner with parents to support spiritual growth in the home.
- Assist with student ministry events, follow-up, and leadership development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Build a thriving student worship ministry that engages students in authentic worship.
- Develop volunteer and student leaders who model Christ-centered worship.
- Strengthen discipleship through effective small group ministry.
- Create and maintain impactful Sunday morning environments.
- Collaborate with the Student Ministry team to support the overall mission and vision of Pleasant Valley.
- Invest relationally in students, families, and volunteer leaders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrates a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with Pleasant Valley mission and values.
- Experience leading worship in a church or student ministry setting.
- Ability to play an instrument and lead vocally.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Passion for discipling students and developing leaders.
- Experience working with volunteers and team-based ministry environments.
- Ability to recruit, train, and shepherd student worship team members.
- Associate's degree minimum preferred
